Laura Santamaria-soprano
Laura Santamaria (she/her), is a Colombian-American opera singer and creative entrepreneur from West Palm Beach, FL.
She is a soprano currently pursuing a Master’s in opera performance at Boston Conservatory at Berklee under Dr. Rebecca Folsom. A recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in voice performance and a minor in Creative Entrepreneurship from the same institution, she was honored as the Presidential Scholar of Music.
Laura received the Richard Gaddes Career Award from Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and was a Florida District Award Winner in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition last year. Her notable credits include debuting as a Gerdine Young Artist at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and covering Musetta in La bohème and Berta in The Barber of Seville in 2024.
She will be performing the roles of Cathleen in Riders to the Sea and Eliza Spencer Brock in Whaling Women at Boston Conservatory at Berklee in February 2025. She will also be singing the role of Fiordiligi in Boston Conservatory's prodocution of Così fan butte in April 2025. She will be returning to Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as a second-year Gerdine Artist to sing the role of Peaseblossom in A Midsummer Night's Dream and cover the role of Norina in Don Pasquale this summer.
Laura is extremely passionate about her Latin-American culture and enjoys singing art songs by Latin-American composers such as Jaime Leon Ferro, Maria Grever, and Alberto Ginastera.
